Songs for The World– a Journey Across Borders

Pianisten Nico Donkervoort og sopranen Henriëtte de Groot har reist over store deler av verden og besøkt mange land.

Deres begeistring for reiser og opplevelser har inspirert et program som illustrerer deres kjærlighet til vår klode, våre medmennesker, våre levesett og vår kulturelle skaperkraft.

Nico og Henriëtte vil ta oss med på en tur – fra Italia og Bellinis «Casta Diva» via Japan og Mitakes «Kawa no nagare no you ni» til Frankrike og Debussys «Nuit d’étoiles» og til USA og Gershwins «Summertime» – og videre over verden.

Det er en ferd med et klassisk uttrykk i bagasjen, og som peker på å holde kontakt over landegrenser i en tid av spenninger og isolasjon.

Henriëtte og Nico studerte musikk sammen ved Musikkonservatoriet i Utrecht i Nederland, og har siden fortsatt å gi konserter sammen som duoen «Duïssimo».

Konserten er et privat initiativ som er gratis og åpen for alle som ønsker å nyte en variert konsert med sang og piano.

The pianist Nico Donkervoort and the soprano Henriëtte de Groot have traveled across large parts of the world and visited many countries.

Their enthusiasm for travels and experiences has inspired a program which illustrates their love for our planet, our fellow humans, our ways of life and our cultural creativity.

Nico and Henriëtte will take us along on a trip – from Italy and Bellini’s «Casta Diva» via Japan and Mitake’s «Kawa no nagare no you ni» to France and Debussy’s «Nuit d’étoiles» and to the US and Gershwin’s «Summertime» – and further across the world.

It is a journey with a classic expression as luggage, and which points to maintaining contact over country borders in a time of tension and isolation.

Henriëtte and Nico studied music together at the Conservatory of Music in Utrecht in the Netherlands, and have since continued to give concerts together as the duo “Duïssimo”.

The concert is a private initiative which is free and open for all who would like to enjoy a varied concert with song and piano.
